Amy Adams revealed that her daughter is potentially “interested” in following her mother into the entertainment industry — though she noted that nothing is decided on yet.
The actress, 51, caught up with PEOPLE exclusively on the red carpet of the finale event for her new Apple TV series, Cape Fear, at the DGA Theater in New York City on July 21.
During the conversation, Adams shared whether her daughter, Aviana Olea, 16, who accompanied her to the show’s world premiere in Los Angeles on June 2, has an interest in pursuing a career in Hollywood.
“I think we’ll see what she’s up for,” the six-time Oscar nominee told PEOPLE exclusively.
“I know she’s interested in production as a whole, so we’ll see what avenue she decides to focus on,” she added.

The teen certainly has grown up in a creative family: Adams shares Aviana with husband Darren Le Gallo, whom she met in an acting class in 2001 — several years before shooting her breakout role in 2005’s Junebug.
Le Gallo, who is a filmmaker and a formally trained fine artist, wrote and directed the short film It Goes in 2010. He debuted his first feature-length movie, Sam & Kate, starring Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek, in 2022.

While previously speaking to PEOPLE, Le Gallo, 52, revealed that conversations with his daughter about life and death served as a major inspiration for Sam & Kate, a dramedy about a man who returns to his small town to care for his aging, widowed father.

“I was trying to ease into it a bit. She’s 12 now, so she’s smarter than me,” he said with a laugh at the time.
Aviana made a cameo in the movie as a young dancer.
While speaking to PEOPLE in 2024, Adams shared that decisions around work and upcoming projects are largely determined by their needs as a family unit.
“Before I take a job, we sit down [as a family] and have a meeting: ‘Here’s what it will look like. Here’s the traveling. How do we feel about that?’ ” Adams explained, adding that Aviana is “always” involved in the decision-making process.

“We’ve been talking about it since she was quite young: ‘How do you feel about spending a summer in Boston?’ Or, ‘How do you feel about coming to England with me when I do the play?’ And I’m really lucky she’s got a lot of wanderlust and she loves traveling,’ ” the Nightbitch star added.
Adams’ latest project, Cape Fear, is a 10-episode series that reimagines the classic 1991 psychological thriller of the same name for the digital age.
The show’s final episode will stream on Apple TV on July 31.
