Theresa Randle, best known for her roles in *Bad Boys* and *Malcolm X*, was detained earlier this month.
Randle was detained on March 1 on suspicion of corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, LAPD confirmed to **.
The 61-year-old actress was detained at 8:30 p.m. on March 1 and released two days later at 6:12 p.m., with the reason for release being insufficient evidence to charge Randle, according to jail records.

Randle famously played Theresa, the devoted wife of Martin Lawrence's Marcus Burnett, throughout the *Bad Boys* franchise up until its 2020 film, *Bad Boys for Life*. She was replaced by Tasha Smith (*Empire*, *Why Did I Get Married?*) for the 2024 film* Bad Boys: Ride or Die*.
She also starred as Michael Jordan's wife in 1996's *Space Jam*, and nearly a decade later, played Cordelia Banks in Lifetime's short-lived 2007 therapist dramedy series *State of Mind*.**

Reflecting on the buddy cop films, of which she starred in alongside Lawrence and Will Smith, Randle said in a 2020 interview that her character Theresa "still remains laughing at both of them because they want to be so grown, so mature."
She added, "They’re still the same Mike and Marcus that she’s always known. And she still has to come in between them. Nothing has really changed."**
