Brooke Baldwin Claps Back at Megyn Kelly’s Criticism of Her Sex Life

Brooke Baldwin is speaking out after Megyn Kelly weighed in on her recent sex life confession.

In a July 19 Substack post, the former CNN anchor opened up about taking a break from being a “serial monogamist” and said she “had the opportunity to sleep with four different men” over the past month.

She addressed the strong reactions to her Substack post in a July 21 Instagram upload, stating, “A lot of you shared with me that you appreciated how open I was talking about myself like that. It made me realize that a lot of us women maybe don’t feel as emboldened, empowered, as open in our bodies, to talk about our bodies, talk about what we love, or maybe don’t love. But if we love it, there’s still a lot of stigma around sex and pleasure, and we gotta do something about that.”

Kelly reacted to Baldwin’s comments during an appearance on the Ruthless podcast shortly after. “Her work and her mission include banging four men in a month,” she said in part, also criticizing Baldwin’s “therapized” talk in the Instagram clip.

“She used to be a serious news anchor. … Not only that, she used to really object to any sort of bawdy talk,” Kelly stated. “She can do what she wants and whatever, but I think she’s been in a very toxic industry for a long, long time. I can relate. She had a divorce, that can be tough. She tried that one show [The Trust on Netflix] that didn’t work out, but that was a good swing and a miss. It’s fine. … I don’t think this is the way out of the funk, Brooke. I do not think this is the way. I actually think if that continues, you’re only going to dig a deeper hole for yourself and you deserve better. That’s my two cents on it, from the heart, one newswoman to another.”

During the Thursday, July 23, episode of The Megyn Kelly Show,Kelly clarified that in the “paid pieces” of Baldwin’s Substack article, she admitted she “did not have casual sex with these men.” Kelly stated, “It was all just a teaser to get you to pay to listen to her lame recitations about her life.”

Baldwin took to Substack again on Sunday, July 26 to clap back at Kelly’s false statements about her original post. “She got the story completely wrong. Not a little wrong. The entire premise. Wrong. Most astoundingly, she cited me as the source,” Baldwin explained. “My last Substack was not about me having casual sex. It was about me choosing not to. It was about heartbreak. Discipline. Discernment. Protecting my energy while I build something bigger than myself.”

She continued, “And yet, for nearly nine minutes, Megyn framed an entire discussion around a false account of my sex life and my bodily choices, alongside three men who cackled, laughed, and berated me.”

Baldwin slammed Kelly for not caring that the “premise of the segment was not at all factual before broadcasting it to an enormous audience,” calling it “Journalism 101.” She wrote, “This is how reputations are ruined. Since that first segment aired, two things happened. First, Megyn’s team quietly changed the original headline of the video to this, which is still false. Second, she did another nine-minute segment defaming me. This time, she briefly claimed that she had not read my full Substack before making her original false accusations. Even if I were to believe she didn’t read my full piece, this is an admission that failed to satisfy the most basic standards of journalism. Talk about a reckless disregard for the truth.”

Baldwin went on to highlight the importance of “integrity” in journalism, stating, “Journalism doesn’t just shape reputations. It shapes reality. It influences what millions of people believe to be true, how we understand the world, and ultimately how we make decisions. That’s why integrity isn’t optional. It’s the foundation of a free society.”

She added, “The truth doesn’t belong to journalists. We are simply its stewards. When we fail to honor it, it isn’t just our credibility that suffers. It’s the public — and the people we cover — who pay the price.”
