Tavia Hunt is looking at the bright side.

The wife of Clark Hunt, owner and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram Sunday, Dec. 14, just moments after the team lost to the Los Angeles Chargers and were eliminated from playoff contention.

This is the first time in a decade that the four-time Super Bowl winning team, who lost 16-13 at home to the Chargers, will not play in the postseason.

That milestone is what made it "sting" even more, Tavia wrote on Instagram, alongside a carousel of images from the game.

"Today didn’t end the way we hoped. After a season full of effort and heart, missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade stings — and it’s okay to feel that disappointment," she began her post.

"Football teaches us a lot about perseverance, humility, and resilience. Not every game ends in a win, and following Jesus never comes with a promise of ease or comfort. But it does come with the promise that God is at work — faithfully and purposefully — even in seasons that hurt," she added.

"Our trust isn’t in outcomes, but in a God who remains steady when everything else feels uncertain," Tavia wrote. "Life is bigger than football, even when football means so much. Our ultimate hope isn’t found in a playoff berth or a trophy — it’s anchored in eternity."

She concluded, "Grateful for this team, this community, and the journey — through every high and every hard ❤️💛🙏🏼."

Tavia has been by her husband's side throughout his 20 years with the Chiefs. The couple, who share three children — daughters Gracie and Ava, and son Knobel — celebrated 30 years of marriage this year after marrying in 1993.

Clark became chairman of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2005, following in the footsteps of his father, Lamar Hunt, who founded the team.

The Chiefs-Chargers game was a tough watch for fans, beyond the loss and missing the playoffs. In the fourth quarter, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL in his left knee after an incomplete pass.

Mahomes addressed the disappointing day in a post on X on Sunday.

"Don't know why this had to happen," he wrote. "And not going to lie [it] hurts. But all we can do now is Trust in God and attack every single day over and over again," he continued.

The three-time Super Bowl champion went on to thank fans for their support and well-wishes.

"Thank you Chiefs kingdom for always supporting me and for everyone who has reached out and sent prayers," Mahomes concluded his post, vowing to "be back stronger than ever."
