Jack Osbourne says he and his wife ādonāt do the nanny thing.ā
While stepping out at Emmy Nominees Night in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 12, the 40-year-old father of five and his wife, Aree Osbourne (nƩe Gearhart), revealed to PEOPLE that they do not employ a nanny to help care for their children.
Aree, 35, and Jack, the son of Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne, share two daughters: Maple, 4, and Ozzy, 6 months. The Osbournes alum also shares three children ā Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8 ā with his ex-wife, Lisa Stelly.
Speaking with PEOPLE at Saturdayās 2026 Emmy Awards pre-party, which was co-hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and SAG-AFTRA at the Chateau Marmont, Jack and Aree shared that a nanny is not part of their parenting toolkit.

Asked about juggling family life since welcoming Ozzy ā who was named for Jackās late rocker father ā in March, Aree said, āI think we did okay. I donāt feel overly overwhelmed, I guess.ā Jack then agreed with his wife, revealing, āYeah, and weāre kind of gnarly in the sense that we donāt have a nanny.ā
Aree is a āfull stay-at-home mom,ā she noted before her podcast host husband continued, āYeah. So we donāt do the nanny thing, and so I thought it was going to be way gnarlier than it is, but you find a rhythm.ā
The couple also shared more insight into their 4-year-old daughter Mapleās first day of preschool, which was just two days earlier.
āIt was great. Yeah. There were no tears,ā Jack told PEOPLE of the big day, while Aree said, āYeah, it was kind of like, āBye, get out of here.ā ā

Jack and Aree went public with their relationship at the American Music Awards in November 2019, several months after The Osbournes star finalized his divorce from Stelly. The couple got engaged in December 2021 and tied the knot less than two years later on Sept. 14, 2023.
Per Jack, the coupleās outing at the pre-Emmys event on Saturday was an āanniversary date night,ā as he is āout of townā for their actual anniversary on Monday, Sept. 14. āItās great to be out. I donāt really pop out to events too often,ā the former reality star told PEOPLE at the star-studded event. āAnd I got invited, and I was like, āYeah, why not? Letās go to the Hollywood party, Emmy party. Why not?ā ā
Also at the event, The Osbournes star reflected on the fact that at 14, his eldest child, Pearl, is already older than he was when he first appeared in his familyās reality TV showalongside his parents and sister Kelly Osbourne.
Reflecting on the legacy of the series, which turns 25 next year, Jack told PEOPLE that āin the moment, I totally didnāt respect what it was I was a part of since I was a teenager. I had no idea.ā Looking back, he said, āI definitely feel truly privileged to have been a part of it.ā

Asked what age he would consider letting his own kids watch The Osbournes, Jack added, āWell, hereās something really disturbing. My eldest daughter is one year younger than I was when we started the show. ⦠So that puts things into perspective.ā
As for how he and his family are doing in the wake of his fatherās death last July, Jack said, āWeāre doing all right. Weāre hanging in there. Thereās a lot going on, and weāre just coming together as a family and just handling it. Thatās the only thing you can do.ā
