Dance Momsalum Paige Hyland issued a fierce reminder against the keyboard warriors who feel comfortable publicly discussing individualsā bodies online.
āGet ready with me while we talk about why itās never OK to comment on someoneās body,ā Hyland, 25, began a Saturday, July 25, video shared via Instagram. āItās 2026, I thought we all knew this, but I guess we need a little refresher.ā
After sharing bikini pics via Instagram earlier this month, Hyland was flooded with comments about her allegedly concerning small frame.
āThe comments I got were diabolical. There were so many people saying I looked anorexic, Iām promoting unhappy eating habits and that, as an influencer, I shouldnāt be encouraging this behavior,ā she stated. āAs an influencer, I feel like itās my responsibility to stand up for people whose bodies naturally look like mine.ā

According to Hyland, sheās ābeen tinyā her entire life without intentionally trying to slim down.
āIn fact, I go to the gym to try and build muscle,ā she said. āLosing weight has never been a goal of mine. ⦠Iāve never came out and said [Iāve had an eating disorder] because Iāve never had one, which Iām extremely grateful for.ā

Hyland added, āIf I did have an eating disorder, imagine reading comments from thousands of people picking apart my body and diagnosing me when they have no idea whatās going on? That is not concern, that is public body-shaming disguised as concern, which is not cute.ā
Hyland further stated that individuals are ānever entitledā to comment on someone elseās physique simply ābecause you think youāre helping.ā

āTruth is, you have no idea what someoneās going through,ā Hyland acknowledged. āSomeone could be recovering from an eating disorder, they could have a medical condition, they could be grieving or they could just be naturally thin like me. You truly have no idea.ā
Hyland, for her part, noted that she āneverā followed a strict diet or restricted her intake of sweets or carbohydrates.
āI eat everything, my body just naturally looks like this. While Iām confident in myself, I know thereās other girls who probably look like me that are reading the comments on my picture thinking thereās something wrong with their bodies,ā the reality TV alum said. āThat genuinely makes me sick to my stomach. Just like itās wrong for shaming someone for being bigger, itās also wrong for shaming them for being smaller.ā
Hyland concluded, āBody positivity has to include all bodies or else itās not ābody positivity.ā So before you go to comment on someoneās weight, whether itās, āYou look too skinny,ā āEat a burger,ā whatever it is, just donāt. Instead, maybe comment about their smile or tell them that you like their outfit. Thereās so many other things you can do besides commenting on someoneās body.ā
