Jimmy Fallon gives Sam Rockwell a chance to redo his show entrance

After being introduced, Sam Rockwell walked onto the set with a slight limp. He shook hands with a surprised Jimmy Fallon before taking his seat on the couch. As Jimmy grabbed his own seat, Rockwell soon took a sip from the cup and said hi to the audience watching him.

Jimmy asked him if everything was okay with him, and Rockwell assured him that he was happy to be on the show, adding that he got a little sciatica thing going on. Jimmy told him that every time he has been on his show since 2009, he has come out dancing. When Rockwell joked about the pictures Jimmy showed of his past dance performances on the show, Jimmy Fallon reminded him that he was a talented dancer and that people loved watching his moves.

Rockwell replied to him by saying,

"I don't think anybody wants to see that."

But the audience soon started cheering for him as Jimmy told them that the audience does want to see him dance. Jimmy Fallon soon decided to reintroduce Sam Rockwell, and Rockwell agreed, saying he would try.

Jimmy then introduced Rockwell again, calling him an Oscar-winning actor and mentioning his upcoming film, Wild Horse Nine. This time, Rockwell returned with an energetic dance entrance showing his splits and other dance moves, leading Jimmy to vibe to the same.

After the dance, Rockwell told Jimmy that he was a bit shaky, and Jimmy told him that it was a "little nunchuck chicken dance." Jimmy added:

"That was fantastic. Never seen that one done before."

The exchange showed the fun bond Rockwell shares with Fallon, with the actor once again making his dance entrance a memorable part of the November 2 episode.

Sam Rockwell has made dancing a regular part of his appearances on Jimmy Fallon's show over the years. He has entertained the audience with different moves, from simple steps to splits and longer dance routines. These moments have also become a much-loved part of his appearances. In 2024, The Tonight Show uploaded a video on YouTube titled "Sam Rockwell's Tonight Show Entrances," featuring a compilation of Rockwell's entrances throughout the years, which has over 700k views as of now.

Speaking about his love for dancing, Rockwell revealed in a 2024 interview with ComicBook that he often dances to calm his nerves. He recalled doing this during his screen test for Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, where director George Clooney allowed him to dance to feel more relaxed and later kept it in the scene.
