Erin Murphy channeled her TV mom more than 50 years after they starred together on the beloved ABCsitcomBewitched. In January 2026, Murphy, 61, gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at a photoshoot she did for a magazine. In the photo, the former child star rocked a retro bouffant-style hairdo, pearl earrings, and winged eye makeup.

“A magazine tried to make me look like Samantha on Bewitched,” Murphy captioned a photo of her look posted to Facebook. “I guess not a huge stretch.”

Murphy was a child when she played mini witch Tabitha Stephens on Bewitched from 1966 to 1972. Elizabeth Montgomery played her bewitching mother, Samantha Stephens, for the entire run of the magical comedy series. Montgomery died in 1995 at age 62.

Fans had a big reaction to Murphy’s photo in the comment section, with many noting how much she looked like Montgomery.

“Sam’s mini me,” one fan wrote.

“I mean, she was your mother…….,” another wrote to Murphy.

“The retro hair works for you,“ another fan added.

Others suggested Murphy should play a grown-up Tabitha in a return of Bewitched.

“Can you twitch your nose?” one fan asked, referencing Samantha’s signature move.

“Erin Murphy I was just going to say holy smokes it's Samantha! You definitely should play her in a brand new movie! Pitch the idea I know it will sell!!” another fan chimed in.

Murphy once revealed that she had a close bond with Montgomery during their time together on Bewitched.

“Elizabeth Montgomery was very maternal,” Murphy told Closer Weeklyin a 2025 interview. “She would even scold me like a parent. If I was being silly, she’d call me ‘Erin Margaret,’ just like my mom would.”

She also looked back fondly on spending time with Montgomery as the Bewitched star got her hair and makeup done on set. “It showed me the power of makeup,” Murphy said. “Elizabeth was a beautiful woman, but so much more beautiful to a child when she had the makeup on.”

Murphy recently shared her thoughts on what her character Tabitha would be up to as a grown woman, 50 years after Bewitched originally aired.

“I think she would be very successful at whatever she did,” Murphy told Remind Magazine in October 2025. “I think she would not be afraid to use her magic because women of my generation and Tabitha’s generation are free to be and do whatever they want. So, I think she wouldn’t feel the need to hide in the closet. She would be out there living her best life.”
