In March 2026, Bridgit Mendler sat down for an interview with The Free Press
During the conversation, the mother of one opened up about her path to graduating from Harvard Law School and stepping into her role as a tech CEO
The 33-year-old “Ready or Not” singer also reflected on her Disney years and the lasting lessons she took from her time as both an actress and musician
Bridgit Mendler first captured audiences as the quick-witted and responsible Teddy Duncan on Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie.
The series, which aired in 2010 and ran for four seasons, showcased Mendler’s comedic timing and relatable charm as she navigated family life in front of the camera. Looking back, the now 33-year-old tech CEO has reflected on just how pivotal that period was in shaping her work ethic and identity.
“It was a great time in my life… super formative experience,” she told The Free Press in a recent interview. “I started that show when I was 17, and continued on for 100 episodes. So it was a rigorous time in life.”

While television made her a household name, Mendler was far from a one-dimensional talent. In addition to Good Luck Charlie, she also appeared in shows like Wizards of Waverly Place and starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Lemonade Mouth.
At the same time, Mendler was building a music career that quickly gained traction. “It was super busy,” she recalled, reflecting on that demanding chapter in her life.
“There were times when, you know, I would be filming a TV show… 12 hours each day during the week, and then going to the studio after, and then doing concerts on the weekends,” Mendler said. “So, in terms of, like, work ethic, like, it was a very formative time for me as well.”
Following her acting success, Mendler released her debut album Hello My Name Is… in 2012, which was later followed by the 2016 EP Nemesis. Though she hasn’t put out new music since 2017, her hit “Ready or Not” continues to resonate, with millions of listeners still streaming her work. At the time of this writing, Mendler has 3.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

In the years since stepping away from entertainment, Mendler has taken a dramatically different path. In May 2024, she graduated from Harvard Law School, celebrating the milestone alongside her 4-year-old son, whom she adopted in 2022.
During her time there, she served as co-president of the Harvard Space Law Society. Mendler also holds a master’s degree from MIT and is currently pursuing a PhD at the institution.
Today, however, Mendler is channeling her ambitions into innovation as the CEO of Northwood Space, a company she co-founded with her husband, Griffin Cleverly.
The startup aims to build infrastructure that connects Earth and space more efficiently – an idea that took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic while spending time with family.
Despite her remarkable shift into science and entrepreneurship, Mendler remains deeply appreciative of having gotten her start at Disney. “I just reflect on it super fondly,” she told The Free Press. “It was a real privilege.”
