Jack Black and Nickelback are the crossover we never knew we needed.

In a recent interview with IMDb for the Anaconda reboot, the actor tried to remember what Nickelback's "biggest hit" was. Then, as the interviewer moved on to the next question, which was directed to his costar Paul Rudd, Black broke out into song.

"This is how you remind me of what I really am," Black, 56, sang in a hilarious tone, reciting the lyrics of "How You Remind Me."

Then, Rudd, 56, immediately started clapping along to the song as Black sang — and he held his final note for several moments before stopping.

"He held that," Rudd said, as Black sat next to him in silence.

"Next question," Black said, adding that it took a him "a while" to remember the lyrics. "I went into a coma."

"You were talking by yourself, looking to me for help. I was like, 'I can't. I'm trying to remember the Nickelback [song].' Such relief," he added.

"You nailed it," Rudd said.

Black and Rudd recently completed a press tour for Anaconda, which hit theaters on Christmas Day. In the film, they play aspiring filmmakers who journey to the Amazon to reboot the 1997 creature feature originally starring Ice Cube, Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight

Speaking with PEOPLE ahead of the premiere, Rudd opened up about the honor of getting to work with Jack.

“Every once in a while something will happen where I'm afforded the opportunity to get to work with a hero of mine,” Rudd, 56, said. “It happened on this one in the form of this old hunk of love.”

The School of Rock star agreed — and revealed why the film resonated so much.

“It is the peeps,” Black, 56, said. “It's funny, because in this movie we are playing filmmakers and so in a way we are playing ourselves. It was very close to home.”

Singing "How You Remind Me" isn't the first time Black gives audiences a taste of his cover song skills. In March 2024, Black similarly covered Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time" as a part of his comedic rock duo with Kyle Gass dubbed Tenacious D. He's also lent his signature style to covers of songs by Chris Isaak, Taylor Swift and more in the past.
