Jessica Biel debuted a sharp wavy bob in the new trailer for Matchbox.
This marks her shortest hair look in a year.
Matchbox will be Biel’s first film role in nine years.
Jessica Biel just debuted her shortest trim in years. In the new trailer for Matchbox, Biel rocks a noticeably shorter look—a blunt chin-length bob, styled in a glamorous deep side part and textured waves.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Biel also wore her chic new cropped cut in a modern center part.

The bob has become something of a summer staple for Biel, who last rocked short hair in 2025 for her role in The Better Sister.
“It just felt like a good moment to do something really different and extreme and it’s really like a visual representation of her control,” she said of her character while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Prior to that, Biel sported another bob in 2024 when she debuted her dramatic chop on Instagram with a video showing the process. “Brought back the fuck ass Bob 💇🏻♀️,” Biel wrote in the caption.
Although Biel starred in The Better Sister last year, Matchbox will be her first film role in nine years. “Getting back into the film industry has been something that I’ve been really excited about doing,” Biel told People during a July 25 appearance at Comic Con, where she wore a denim jumpsuit with daring back and side cutouts. “It has to be right timing, it has to be the right thing.”
“I have little kids, you know, there’s a lot of elements that go into a decision, for me at least,” she said, referring to sons Silas, 11, and Phineas, 5, whom she shares with husband Justin Timberlake. “I just was inspired by this cast, was inspired by these cars and the nostalgia. I wanted to do something in the action space again, and this just seemed like the right thing. I was really excited to be a part of it.”
