Lady Gaga had not been seen in public for a while before photos of the singer carrying a newborn baby emerged this week.
Exclusive images obtained by Page Six on September 11 showed the Bad Romance hitmaker carrying the infant close to her chest during a stroll with her fiancé, Michael Polansky, in Northern California. The 40-year-old singer was seen wearing a casual outfit, with white loose pants and an oversized cardigan.
Her partner, who is an entrepreneur, was photographed wearing shorts, a hoodie, baseball cap and flip-flops. Details, including the baby's name, sex and date of birth, are not known at this time. Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, and Michael, 42, had kept away from the public eye in recent months before news that they have welcomed a baby came out.

The Grammy winner reportedly stopped to take a selfie with a fan in Northern California in August, but before that, the last public event she had attended was the world premiere event for her concert film Apple Music Live: Mayhem Requiem, which was held at AMC The Grove 14 Los Angeles on May 14. Gaga led a gothic funeral-themed procession from Apple The Grove to the theater alongside 40 performers.

The event featured Victorian mourning attire, cascading florals, and an eight-piece brass band playing New Orleans-inspired jazz arrangements of her Mayhem tracks. The film and accompanying live album dropped globally on Apple Music and Apple TV on May 14.

Gaga has had a busy few years professionally, most recently wrapping her Mayhem Ball tour in April. The tour ran for nearly nine months and included 86 shows across the world.
Since the singer and her fiancé, who got engaged in March 2024, had been laying low in recent months, fans had been speculating on the status of their relationship.

However, a source close to Gaga told Page Six that "everything is good" and praised the singer for having Michael by her side. "They have an amazing biodome of love. Seems like a really safe place for her," the insider said.
Despite keeping her journey to parenthood private, Gaga had previously shared her desire to become a mother. In an interview with The New York Times in 2025, she said, "I'm excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it.
"The thing that's the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that's the thing that I believe in the most."

At the time, however, the singer acknowledged that becoming a mother could bring some complicated feelings as she tried to balance family life with her career. Months later, Gaga appeared on The Stephen Colbert Show in October 2025 and again spoke about her hopes of becoming a mother, making it clear that starting a family was high on her list of priorities.
"I would like to do many things," the actress said. "All of these things are open. But, what I really want, is to be a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope."
