Lisa Ann Walter says she regrets not appreciating her “hot” body in her younger years.

Walter chatted with people at the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Hollywood, Calif., on Dec. 1. During the conversation, the actress shared that she didn’t have a clear sense of her own body in previous decades, adding that the ’90s were a “weird” time for body positivity.

“It's so weird. The ‘90s were a weird time for women,” Walter, 62, said. “Like, my figure was bangin’. I was 36-24-36. I was like hot … But back then, I didn't think of myself as that. I thought of myself as ‘cute for a comic,’ and I should have just been … I should have done Playboy. That's what I should have done!”

The star also joked that there were a “couple years” when she was “very blonde” and “solidly tramped it up.”

“It's not a chore when you go out and you get to talk about a show that you would genuinely, first of all, enjoy [as a viewer] … I really like the show. I think it's funny. It's not hard for me to drum up something to say about it because I think it does something good in this world,” she said, noting that the cast and crew are like “family.”

“Golly, there's a couple that we just shot that were a bit of a game changer for several episodes. I would get in trouble with [creator and star] Quinta [Brunson] if I told you exactly what it was, but a little bit of stuff that has to do with [the character] Jacob.”

The series earned Walter, as well as the rest of the cast, a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2023 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. It also won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical the same year.
