Megan Thee Stallion has canceled appearances in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway following her mid-show hospitalization.
PEOPLE can confirm the rapper, 31, will not perform during the matinee and evening performances of the musical on Wednesday, April 1. She was rushed to the hospital the night before after becoming "very ill" while performing.
A spokesperson told PEOPLE at the time that Megan “started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated.”
It is unclear when she will return to the musical.
A rep for Megan did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The Tuesday night performance proceeded with understudy Patrick Clanton, who later wrote on his Instagram Stories, "Sending all my love and healing thoughts to @theestallion! Feel better soon, Meg! We love you!"
Megan made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City on March 24. She is set to perform as nightclub owner Zidler for a limited eight-week engagement until May 17.
The Grammy winner, born Megan Pete, made history as the first female-identifying performer to play the role in any production of the musical.

Megan previously said in a statement that joining the production “is an absolute honor.”
"I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me,” the "Savage" artist said.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film starring Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, and will play its final performance on July 26.
Directed by Alex Timbers with a book by John Logan, the show follows Christian, an American man in Paris at the turn of the 20th century, as he falls in love with a performer at the titular cabaret club named Satine.
The production, which first opened in 2019, has welcomed many starry cast members, including Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, Tituss Burgess, Boy George and Bob the Drag Queen.

PEOPLE's Dave Quinn was in the audience on Megan’s opening night and wrote that she “feels right at home as the evening’s emcee, anchoring the high-energy production with the same confidence that has made her a force in music.”
A few familiar faces attended her first performance, including Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish and Todrick Hall.
