Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might have left the Royal family in 2020 to gain greater financial and professional independence but it has been speculated that things have not gone smoothly for them since then. With their Netflix and Spotify deals reportedly falling through and Harry losing his high-profile legal battle, the couple is rumored to be facing financial constraints.
Now, insiders have hinted that Meghan might be blaming her husband for them not grabbing more lucrative professional opportunities, which might bring in more substantial income
An insider close to the development revealed to Star Magazine that Meghan feels that Harry’s “biases” might be obstructing him from grabbing more professional opportunities that could bring in a bigger paycheck.

The source said, “What she wants is for him to stop acting like he’s above the whole Hollywood thing and start getting paid. There are plenty of opportunities up for grabs if he would just stop being so snobbish about it all.”
The same publication reported in May 2026 that the Duke of Sussex might not be on the same page with his wife when it comes to embracing the Hollywood lifestyle or pursuing opportunities in the entertainment world.
He was reportedly not in favor of spending much time with his wife’s close friend and “Momager” Kris Jenner amid earlier reports of the Duchess of Sussex being in touch with the Kardashian clan to gain insight into their business model to incorporate those strategies herself in an attempt to establish her brand.
A source had, at that time, revealed to the publication that the Spare author had never once imagined, “getting pressured to cozy up to the Kardashians.”

The insider added, “It’s all pretty surreal and, honestly, a little embarrassing for Harry. The truth is, Harry would much rather stay home and read a book than spend the night making small talk with a bunch of social climbers posing for photos.”
Markle Feels Harry is Still ‘Very Attached’ to his Royal Status
According to reports, even though Prince Harry stepped back from his Royal duties in 2020, his wife is still allegedly convinced that he is “still very attached” to his royal status.
The insider had revealed that while the former Suits star is supportive of her husband being proud of his Royal titles, she “wants him to find a way to monetize it, whether that means doing cameos in movies or TV shows or starting a podcast. She really doesn’t care.”
The source said that while Meghan Markle is proud of Harry’s attempts to raise money for his charities, she also wishes he would find ways to make money for their family instead of leaving the entire financial burden to her.
The insider revealed, “Meghan isn’t trying to deny Harry the opportunity to raise money for his charities. He’s passionate about it and she’s very proud of what he’s accomplished. But as far as she’s concerned, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t also be finding ways to make money for their family. It can’t be all on her to support them.”
