Gird your loins! The press tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially underway, and stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are already making the most of the fashion opportunities. The duo stepped out at the Mexico City premiere on Monday looking ready for the pages of Runway, the fictional fashion magazine that the film series centers on.

Streep, who earned a Best Actress nomination for her turn as impossible-to-please Runway Editor in Chief Miranda Priestly in the first Devil Wears Prada in 2006, wore a long-sleeved navy maxi shirtdress by Schiaparelli with gleaming gold-toned buttons and a wide belt at the waist. She paired it with simple, slicked-back hair, gold drop earrings, and a structured, gold-embellished handbag.

While Streep went demure, Hathaway opted for glitz, donning a Stella McCartney minidress, covered in glittering magenta sequins. The dress, which featured a crew neckline and subtly puffed sleeves, was paired with scrunchy, thigh-high heeled boots. Hathaway returns in the sequel to the role of Andrea “Andy” Sachs, who spent the first film as an initially unwilling assistant to the demanding Miranda, only to find herself consumed by the cutthroat stakes of high fashion.

The premiere looks weren’t the duo’s first of the press tour. They also made an appearance earlier in the day at a press conference where Streep stunned in a monochromatic scarlet suit set by Dolce & Gabbana and Hathaway wore a black Schiaparelli dress embellished with fringe and a striking belt fastened with an oversized gold eye.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 comes a full two decades after the first film became a hit. In addition to Streep and Hathaway, original cast members Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt are also returning along with new faces, including Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora.

Notably not returning is Adrien Grenier, who played Hathaway’s boyfriend in the original film—a character who in the subsequent years has been dubbed “the real villain” of the film by internet memes.
