Minnie Driver appeared at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 11

While there, she told E! Live from the Red Carpet that her 1997 movie Good Will Hunting is one of her all-time favorite projects

Matt Damon, her fellow actor in that film and ex-boyfriend, remains one of her favorite costars

Minnie Driver is taking a trip down memory lane.

Speaking to E! Live from the Red Carpet at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 11, the actress, 55, named Good Will Hunting costar Matt Damon as one of her all-time favorite collaborators.

“I've got to say Matt and Ben [Affleck] were pretty fun when they were just getting going, raring to go, just kids,” said the Oscar nominee.

“I've been very lucky, very fortunate,” said Driver of her former costars, shouting out her Grosse Pointe Blank costar John Cusack as “incredibly intellectually challenging and stimulating and fun.”

Damon, 55, dated Driver while filming the movie; the costars split soon afterward in early 1998. The official end of their relationship came when Damon denied he had a girlfriend while appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Good Will Hunting, written by Damon and Affleck and directed by Gus Van Sant, earned Academy Awards for Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Robin Williams’ performance. Driver also earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination.

At that Oscar ceremony, Driver noted on The Jennifer Hudson Show in 2024, she and Damon had “recently broken up… He had a new girlfriend. I was totally heartbroken.”

Asked at the time what she would tell her then-25-year-old self, she said, "I wish I could have told her, ‘Honey it’s cool, you can celebrate and life’s gonna be great and beautiful and hard and amazing… You’re going to love again, it’ll be fine.’ ”

Driver recently had a guest role in season 5 of Netflix's Emily in Paris. The actress is mother to one son, Henry, whom she welcomed in 2008. (She has kept the father's identity private.) Since 2019, Driver has been romantically linked to filmmaker Addison O’Dea.
