"She reached out to us during Paris because she was a field hockey player, of course, and so we knew she had an interest in Olympic sports," Solomon, who oversaw production of the 2024 Summer Games, tells PEOPLE.
Given Kylie's background as a content creator, where she boasts 2.7 million followers on Instagram and 2.5 million followers on TikTok, as well as her hit podcast, Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce (with 429.000 subscribers on YouTube), she was a perfect fit for the job, Solomon said.

"Luckily, she had a really deep relationship with YouTube and she wanted to come along to Cortina," Solomon adds of the 33-year-old mother of four, noting, "So she's going to be there the second week."
The 2026 Winter Olympics kick off with the opening ceremony on Friday, Feb. 6 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, with events extending to Cortina and other locations. The games will run for 17 days and conclude with the closing ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 22.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
"We just can't wait to get her there day by day, going to different events," she says, adding, "And hopefully she'll get the bug and she'll want to be a part of this for LA."
NBC announced on Tuesday, Jan. 6 that Kylie, alongside Saturday Night Live alum Bowen Yang, is slated to be part of NBCUniversal's Creator Collective.
The program will feature approximately 25 content creators across YouTube, Meta and TikTok platforms telling stories about the Games in their unique styles, giving viewers on-the-ground access in Milan and Cortina.
Solomon then hinted at a potential special guest who'll be joining Kylie: her husband, Jason.
"I think he's tagging along," she teased. "Yeah, we'll see. We'll see what happens," she added, noting that he would be able to attend both the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 8 and the Olympics because they don't overlap dates.

"He can do both. He can do both," she says of the former Philadelphia Eagles center.
Over a 17-day stretch of programming, NBC will air three of the biggest sports events — the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LX,and the NBA All-Star Game — a convergence that marks a first in sports broadcasting.
Kylie and Jason are not strangers to the Olympics. As Solomon mentioned, the couple made their mark at the 2024 Paris Olympics, specifically with the women's rugby team.
Rugby superstar Ilona Maher named Jason the unofficial mascot of Team USA women's rugby, per a clip shared by the star player on TikTok.
"Women's water polo has Flavor Flav as their superfan," the athlete could be heard telling the football star in the video, adding of why he should become a superfan, "You are a girl dad."
