For now, Novo Nordisk (NVO) CEO Mike Doustdar says it's business as usual for its weight-loss drug behemoth as healthcare giant CVS Health (CVS) undergoes a complicated breakup.
"In some ways, I would say I don't see a material impact for us other than now we have to of course have two different negotiations and two different groups of people that we will speak to about our products and making sure that it finds it in their formulary, but being a popular product company makes it a lot easier than otherwise," Doustdar said on Sozzi Unleashed.

CVS Health announced plans late Wednesday to break up its $117 billion healthcare empire into two standalone, publicly traded businesses. The planned separation reverses years of vertical integration, unwinding the 2018 landmark acquisition of insurer Aetna.

Under the plan, the retail pharmacy network and storefront operations will spin off into an independent company named CVS Pharmacy.
The other operation will house the Aetna health insurance business, Caremark pharmacy benefit manager, and primary care assets. The breakup is slated to be completed in the first half of 2028.
Doustdar added, "When you're selling products like ours that are in need of many patients, then almost everyone would like to work with you."
