Carrie Bradshaw’s famous newspaper dress, featured in season 3 of Sex and the City(and later the film Sex and the City 2), was revived once more, but in an unexpected location: the sidelines of the Spanish Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old vintage Christian Dior dress, designed by then-creative director John Galliano and debuted in 2000, was referenced at the Formula 1 event on Friday, Sept. 11, on 26-year-old influencer Alexandra Leclerc, who is married to F1 star Charles Leclerc and pregnant with the couple’s first baby.

Photos taken of Alexandra at the event in Madrid show the star (accompanied by her equally famous dog Leo) glammed up in the vintage mini, which she paired with a coordinating purse, black open-toe heels and sunglasses.
Carrie Bradshaw’s dress, worn by actress Sarah Jessica Parker, was resurrected in 2025 on Jenna Ortega, who attended the Hurry Up Tomorrowpremiere clad in the look. And while the design was certainly revered after its spot on television, it had a controversial background when it debuted on the runway nearly three decades ago, according to CNN, which reported that it debuted in the Hobo collection “inspired both by the displaced people the designer saw while jogging and by the ‘Tramp Ball’ trend from the 1920s and 30s whereby the wealthy dressed as the homeless for glamorous soirees.”

With F1 season revving up its engines, Alexandra will no doubt be turning the circuit into her personal runway and making a case for high-fashion maternity style.
At free practice on Friday, Sept. 4, she arrived at northern Italy’s Autodromo Nazionale Monza event wearing a trendy black keyhole cutout dress with white polka dots and a bow-tie halter top. She paired it with her signature small-framed black sunglasses and styled her hair slicked back into a tight bun. The next day, the model and mom-to-be wore an entirely black, knee-length dress with a plunging halter-top neckline. She paired it with black kitten heels and tiny black sunglasses.

Alexandra’s viral taste is what caught the attention of Hailey Bieber, whose beauty line Rhode tapped the WAG as its first “muse-ambassador,” per Vogue. She later collaborated with the brand on her own collection. “I really am all about makeup that looks and feels like skin,” Alexandra told the outlet of her beauty philosophy.
