Prince Harry and Prince William‘s alleged feud keeps sparking headlines. The Duke of Sussex reportedly made serious allegations against his elder brother in his memoir, “Spare.” Harry allegedly also spoke about William getting better treatment than him since childhood. Now, a royal author has opened up about their dynamic and how Harry went from William’s “wingman to hitman.”

Royal author shares insight into Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship

Royal author Andrew Morton discussed Prince Harry and Prince William in a recent video on his Instagram. He has always argued that William and Diana saw Harry as his wingman, and he turned into a hitman.

“And that’s something which struck me very forcibly. But at the same time, Harry’s memoir and his real-life experience were very much about a whinge about the fact that he got the smaller room at Balmoral, he didn’t get as much money, he wasn’t treated in the same way,” Morton continued.

The author acknowledged Harry wasn’t treated in the same way and was the spare, which was the title of his memoir. “William is the one who’s destined to be king, but it’s a very lonely job. A very lonely position and the thinking was always from the Queen to Diana to the rest of the senior royals that Harry would support William.”

Norton continued that, despite being temperamental, people felt he would never betray the royal family, which he ended up doing.

Recently, it was reported that William has reluctantly agreed to a truce with Harry. This is primarily to avoid schedule clashes amid the Duke’s UK comeback. “William has given the go-ahead for his team to speak to Harry’s staff to coordinate things when necessary,” a source told Closer. This is because the Prince of Wales has “realized it will look ridiculous if their engagements are overlapping.”

The source continued, “There needs to be some level of coordination, particularly as Harry steps up his philanthropy within the U.K.” They added, “This willingness by William to coordinate is being seen as a step towards a truce. Albeit a very small one.”
