The atmosphere within the palace walls might see some chaos and conflict following the return of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle to the U.K. after almost six years. With the rift between Harry and his elder brother, Prince William, still heating up, the dynamics may become even more complicated. The recent development suggests that William is reportedly experiencing some paranoia about his brother’s network of contacts or loyal informants within the institution who might relay all the information to him.
Harry and Meghan had disassociated themselves from the Royal family in 2020 to pursue financial and professional independence, relocating to California. Following their return, a blunt letter from King Charles has clarified that the Sussexes will not retain their Royal titles and will remain as “private citizens” of the U.K.
William Is Fearful of Harry’s ‘Network’ Inside The Palace
Now, a Royal insider has revealed to Radar Online that William is afraid of information traveling to his younger brother through sources from inside the Palace, as Harry has spent the majority of his early years within the institution before his estrangement.
The source told the publication, “William’s concern isn’t that there is some organized spying operation. It’s that Harry spent his entire life inside this institution and naturally still knows people throughout the royal world. William worries that conversations can travel and that details he regards as private might eventually be finding their way to his brother now that he is back in Britain.”
The insider revealed that the future King has reportedly become increasingly cautious about whom to tell what information. However, he is aware that there are many palace staffers who have previously worked for both the brothers and harbor a personal affection for the Duke of Sussex.
The source said, “He’s therefore become extremely guarded about who is told what. The difficulty is that many people have worked with both brothers or remain personally fond of Harry, so William knows he can’t simply draw a line through the Palace and decide everyone belongs on one side or the other. That’s created an atmosphere where he’s increasingly cautious about information concerning his family.”

Another royal insider revealed that Prince Harry would staunchly deny any speculation that he was “spying” on his family. The source also explained that there is a fine line between maintaining a healthy relationship with people you have known for many years and recruiting someone to “spy” on your family.
Harry Most Likely To Deny ‘Spying’ On His Family
The insider told the publication, “There is an enormous difference between maintaining relationships with people you’ve known for years and asking somebody to report on your family secretly. But after everything that’s happened between the brothers, even ordinary communication can now be viewed through the prism of suspicion.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s drastic decision to disassociate themselves from the Royal family came primarily after their original request to have a “half in and half out” role within the Royal institution was rejected at the Sandringham Summit that was held on Jan. 13, 2020, and witnessed the inspection of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
However, ever since then, the relationship between Prince William and his younger brother has deteriorated after the latter and his wife decided to give an explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 that had some shocking allegations against the institution, including racism. Furthermore, Harry also released a tell-all memoir, Spare, on Jan. 10, 2023, which included some controversial details about his strained relationship with his family, including details of a 2019 physical altercation with William.
