Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 31, 2026
For Sadie Sink, Marvel secrets are harder to keep than Stranger Things spoilers.
For her next role, the Stranger Things star will join the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sink revealed she first learned she’d be entering the Spider-Verse while wrapping the fifth and final season of the Netflix series.
“Oh, it was crazy,” Sink said. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially. To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned.”
“I also worked with the director, Destin Daniel Kretten, in one of the first movies I ever did when I was 14, so it’s kind of a full-circle moment,” she said. “I had an amazing time working on that film.”
She added, “I can’t wait to talk about it more. There’s so much I want to share. That’s why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive.”

No details of Sink’s character have been released yet. Sink will be joining The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas as newcomers to the Spider-Man saga. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Jon Favreau will return as their beloved characters.

Tom Holland in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
The fourth installment in the series comes four years after Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Brand New Day will pick up where the series left off, a world erased of Spider-Man’s legacy. In the 2021 superhero film, Spider-Man asked Doctor Strange to cast a spell to wipe the world of his memory for a chance to live a normal life as Peter Parker.
“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about," producer Amy Pascal told Deadline in December 2024.
When asked what roles she’d love to take on in the future, Sink replied, “I’m kind of open to whatever,” but loves a good challenge.
“I’m finding myself gravitating towards challenges, which is good,” she explained. “One thing that’s important to me is to really tap into every side of myself as an actor. When I’m choosing a new project, the first thing I look for is: How is this going to push me in ways I haven’t been pushed before? Which is a good period to be in right now because I’ve been doing this for a very long time, but I’m still very young, and there’s so much more to learn as I grow older and step into more adult roles.”
The Whale actress continued, “So there’s no specific genre that I’d like to do. Although I feel like in a couple of years I’m going to be like, ‘I just want to do a comedy or something really light,’ which I’ve been saying for a while. But I still gravitate towards darker, more demanding things.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in theaters July 31.
