Tomb Raider has halted filming after star Sophie Turner was injured.
The actress, who will star as Lara Croft in the series, "recently experienced a minor injury," a spokesperson for Prime Video told Deadline and Variety in a statement.
“As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover," the statement continued. "We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”
It is unclear what the injury is and whether it will impact the show's release date. Deadline also reported, citing sources, that the shutdown is set to last two weeks and the crew will be paid.

Amazon MGM Studios kicked off production for the adaptation of the video game franchise in January, months after Turner was announced in September 2025 to take on the role. The series, created by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and ordered in May 2024, will also star Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Celia Imrie.
Turner previously told Radio Andy’s The Julia Cunningham Show in January that training for the series has included "eight hours a day, five days a week" since February 2024, also detailing a pre-existing injury at the time.

“I’ve learned I have a perpetual back problem," she said of the most surprising thing she learned while training, per SiriusXM. "But I also realized that it’s much easier to kind of build muscle if you’ve ever worked out before in your life, which I never had, so it has taken me months and months and months to get into good shape. That’s what I’ve learned.”
Earlier this year, Prime Video released a first look at Turner as the fictional archaeologist, wearing shorts, a tank top, a leather backpack and a gun strapped at her thigh.
"I’ve been a long-time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara," Turner previously said in a statement. "She has always felt, for me, very emboldened in a male-dominated world. She’s a fierce female role model."
Waller-Bridge previously called the actress "formidable" when she was announced for the role, and also shared in a statement in May 2024 that the character of Croft "means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure."
“If I could tell my teenage self this was happening, I think she’d explode," she said. "Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators."
Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed and August Wittgenstein round out the cast.
Waller-Bridge will serve as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer; Jonathan Van Tulleken will serve as director and executive producer, alongside other EPs. Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios will produce.
