Amanda Batula and West Wilson are speaking out amid wild speculation that the *Summer House* costars have taken their friendship to new heights.
Batula posted a joint statement from her and Wilson to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, saying, "We've seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it."
She continued: "We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care. As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless."
The concluded, "We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."

Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula; West Wilson and Ciara Miller.
Rumors about the two have been circulating since gossip blog DeuxMoi reported they were allegedly hooking up in an Instagram post March 5. The rumor created ripples throughout the *Summer House* fandom due to Wilson's very public breakup with costar Ciara Miller, who has been close friends with Batula for years. Miller and Wilson broke up after dating for a few months during *Summer House* season 8.
Fans felt particularly scandalized about the rumors because Batula and her husband, Kyle Cooke, announced their split in January, a little more than a month before speculation about her relationship with Wilson allegedly began.
*Summer House* documented the former couple's entire relationship: They got engaged in 2018, a year after the Bravo reality series' debut, and never shied away from the hardships that accompanied their journey down the aisle.
One of the more memorable moments between the two involved the revelation of Cooke's infidelity during the season 3 premiere, which aired in March 2019. At the time, Cooke claimed that he "blacked out" during a "guys' trip" and "woke up with a girl in [his] bed." Batula struggled with trusting her partner for several years after the confession, even after the pair tied the knot in the season 8 finale.
As for Miller and Wilson, although their brief dalliance following Wilson's addition to the cast in 2023 ended on less than friendly terms, the pair have maintained a will-they-or-won't-they vibe ever since.

Wilson brushed aside the rumors during a recent appearance on Bravo's *Watch What Happens Live*, stating that he and Batula were just friends and adding, "If it's not clear, that's a very important person to me, and I, like, care about her a lot."
Batula further denied the rumors, writing, "THANK YOUUUUUUU," when responding to a fan who commented, "West is a safe boy bestie for Amanda because they'd never date. He's so much fun, he cares about his friends and they have mutual friends to hang out with all the time."
Cooke also shared his belief that the rumors weren't true during a March 10 appearance on *WWHL*. "For it to go as long as it has in the news cycle is kind of shocking," Cooke said. "But no, I don't think there's any merit to it."
When pressed further on the topic, Cooke didn't directly say he'd be upset if Batula and Wilson dated, but acknowledged that he thought it would make things difficult within their friend group.
"It would certainly catch me by surprise and feel a little reckless," he said. "And I think I'd probably be the last person people would be worried about. I think Ciara would probably have something to say. But if it made Amanda happy, I think I just would have to vote yea."

Chelsea Batula and Ciara Miller.
Still, the internet remained unconvinced. Especially as several cast members seemingly responded (without actually saying anything) to the resurgence of the rumors.
Last week, *Page Six* reported that Batula and Miller were "feuding" after the latter allegedly received confirmation of the long-rumored hookup. Although neither star commented on the allegations, fans noted that despite the duo being scheduled to do an Amazon livestream together, they wound up doing the event separately instead.
Cooke also stirred the pot by responding to a post on Threads that said, "Ok but the funniest thing about this rumor is how much we care about Ciara's well-being but none for Kyle. I don't think I've seen a single comment wondering about how he feels."
The reality star simply replied to the post with two emojis: one of a blond man raising his hand and one of a crying face, but the response was more than enough to spike fans' belief that the rumors are true.
*Southern Charm* star Austen Kroll, who was recently spotted hanging out with Cooke, sent tongues wagging when he seemingly referenced the alleged hookup in an Instagram Story posted that same weekend. "Pasta and f* your friends exes are apparently so back," Kroll wrote.

Before any of the rumors began circulating, Batula cited her friendships with both Miller and Wilson as essential to getting her through the breakup of her marriage.
"[Miller] is one of the kindest, most loving, loyal friends I've ever had. She sends me texts out of the blue, reminding me how strong, powerful, smart, and kind I am — I don't think she even realizes how much I need those texts," Batula told *Marie Claire* in an interview. "It's also meant so much to me how supportive West has been throughout the season, sometimes in ways I wasn't even aware of when filming. It's not performative; it's just really authentic to who West is."
Miller has yet to respond publicly to the rumors or Wilson and Batula's statement.
