Taylor Swift opened up about how Travis Kelce's moment on stage during the Eras Tour came together in her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era
"That was the loudest it ever got on the Eras Tour," she says of his appearance
The third and fourth episodes of the docuseries premiered on Dec. 19
When Taylor Swift brought out Travis Kelce on stage during her Eras Tour show in London in June 2024, it merely started as a joke — and she was pleasantly surprised he was up for the challenge.
In the fourth episode of Swift's Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era,, which premiered on Friday, Dec. 19, Swift, 36, opens up about how it all fell into place.
"How do I put this? Travis is like… He’s a real… He’s a real yes guy, like in terms of life itself," the "Miss Americana" singer says. "He’s just up for anything."
She then explains that when she wrote the skit for "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart," which was featured on The Tortured Poets Department, she had a "dramatic idea" to play a solider who's fatally wounded on a battlefield — and then she perks up immediately to perform.
"I remember thinking about the skit and always just being like, 'If there was ever a point to put Travis in the show, I think this would be the one,' but obviously I’m never gonna suggest that because that’s like… You don’t wanna scare people, you know?" she explains.
"I can’t remember how it came up. I think we were just joking around about him doing it, him getting up there with Kam," she continues. "And it became very clear that he, like, wasn’t joking. And I was like, 'Oh wait, no, you would do that?' And he was like, 'Yeah, it would be hilarious.' I was like, 'If you’re serious about this, I will send your measurements to wardrobe, and they’ll get you a tux, like, are you serious?' And he’s like, 'Put me in. I’m in.'"
The "Opalite" singer went on to praise her fiancé for his ability to come to life "when the lights are the brightest."
"I think that's, as a player, he can slow down time in the most stressful moments, and that’s exactly what we saw on stage," she says. "He got out there and was the most charming, delightful performer you could ever be on the stage with. His instincts — he’s just so magically entertaining."
Andrea, Swift's mom, adds that he "brought a lot of happiness" to the fans at the show.

Swift adds, "I can safely say, that was the loudest it ever got on the Eras Tour."
At the time, Kelce — who was dressed in a tuxedo and a top hat — joined her during the outfit change and stepped in for the dancer who typically carries her during the segment.
He also showed off some of his signature dance moves and gave one more big smile before exiting the stage.
The third and fourth episodes of The End of an Era premiered on Friday, Dec. 19. The final two episodes will hit Disney+ on Dec. 23.
