Thankfully, there’s an attractive veterinarian (Kimberley Sustad) nearby.

With undeniable heat between the leads and a character-driven script, Nine Lives is a standout. It has everything a rom-com needs: forced proximity, a mistletoe kiss, a You’ve Got Mail-style montage, and two adorable, extremely well-behaved kitties. —J.T.
