Chisholm, 27, popped the question to his girlfriend, singer Ahnalys Santiago, on Christmas Day during a surprise proposal under the Northern Lights while on vacation in Finland. Santiago shared photos from the special moment in an Instagram post on Friday, Dec. 26.
“I’m not Da Gurl anymore yallllll I’m DA WIFEEEEEEEE,” she wrote in the post’s captions.
“AHHHHHHHHH WTF I CANT STOP CRYING 💍 12.25.25 I love you so much WTF mannnn you tricked me @_jazz3 🥹✨I guess when you know you know & he ain’t playing bout me AHHH WTF😭MS MAC CHISHOLM 💋,” she added.

The post, which was also shared by Chisholm on his Instagram feed, featured a snap of the athlete getting down on one knee in front of Santiago with the glow of the Northern Lights illuminating the sky behind them. It also included emotional photos of the couple embracing, as well as Santiago showing off her ring to the camera.

Santiago shared more photos from the trip, as well as reposted well-wishes from friends and loved ones, on her Instagram Stories later that day.
“Ya’ll I been through the worst that life could give me & I prayed so much for a better life to be loved correctly and to be secure in my life. This is crazy,” she wrote over a mirror selfie of herself taken after the proposal.

She had seemingly alluded to her desire to get engaged several times on social media over the past few months. In an Instagram post shared on Dec. 7, Santiago posted photos of herself and Chisholm in a pool, captioning the photos, “Da Parents 🩵🩵 See yall at our wedding next year 💍.”
Several fans commented on the post after news of the official engagement broke, with one person writing, “To get proposed to not even a month later is SOOO BEAUTIFUL 🥹❤️.”

The Bahamas-born Chisholm joined the Yankees in 2024 after playing for the Miami Marlins for five seasons. In addition to second base, he also plays center field and third base.
His batting average for the current season is .242, and he has hit 31 runs, per ESPN.
